The Front Range Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) welcomes you to learn more about our chapter and the National Society. We invite you to contact us should you be looking to join a DAR chapter in the Broomfield and surrounding areas.
DAR members share a common bond; a lineal descent from Patriots of the American Revolution. If you have a Patriot in your family tree or believe your ancestors includes individuals who were here from around 1775-1783 or who might have participated in the Revolutionary War, we hope you will consider contacting us about joining the DAR.
Front Range Chapter, NSDAR, was chartered on December 8, 1972 and is one of 50 chapters through our state. While many of our approximately 130 chapter members reside in the Broomfield area, we draw from members in the other 4 communities we also serve including Westminster, Northglenn, Federal Heights, and Thornton. Members also come from Longmont, Brighton, Denver and beyond. We hold regular monthly meetings in the morning on the second Saturday of the month, from September through May, in Broomfield, Colorado.
During most months, we have a guest speaker who presents a program that will enlighten us, entertain us, and sometimes intrigue us. On other occasions, we may have special events. The programs are usually about historic facts, women in history, stories about little known facts, genealogical information, important historic figures, or a topic that falls within the mission of DAR.
There is almost always a Front Range chapter project underway – members volunteer in home communities and with online DAR projects, collect goods for active and military Veterans as well as for community food banks. We also send care packages to our active duty military, work on projects supporting our Veterans, support a neighborhood school and a Native American school, a Broomfield therapy hospital, and a tree project in one of the five communities we serve. We provide snacks for our college DAR members as well as for first responders plus a myriad of other projects we undertake in different years.
We would be pleased to have you join us at one of our meetings. Come visit and get acquainted! We encourage you to join DAR and preserve your family legacy for all the generations to come. You can be as active as you wish to be – there are no requirements of volunteer time – you can get involved in what interests you.
Our Membership Chair or Registrar will gladly respond to your email inquiry and arrange a personal meeting, at your convenience, to determine your eligibility for DAR. You will be given individual assistance throughout the application process. As a Prospective Member, you will be welcomed by your new DAR friends at our monthly meetings.
The friends you make in DAR will last you a lifetime.
